Meal Replacements ; Never Miss a Meal and Get all the
Nutrients You Need
If you do not have time throughout
the day to eat meal replacement
supplements or MRP (Meal Replacement
Powders) could be a viable
option. It is best to buy meal
replacements that will help you achieve
your fitness goals as well as satisfy
your hunger.
Meal Replacements used to taste
horrible and scared many off.
Today many of them taste great.
Always choose a meal replacement
consistent with your goals.

Myoplex
Deluxe
When someone asks you what you're drinking tell them you
are drinking a chicken breast, sweet potato and vegetables
and taking a multivitamin, but it tastes just like chocolate
vanilla or strawberry. Myoplex has a great mix of
nutrients, moderate complex carbs, essential fats and and 50
grams
of protein. You can't do any better than Myoplex
deluxe, it also is very filling. The only con is it is
messy, you have to make in a shaker or blender.
Myoplex deluxe has around 350 Calories. |
  |
Myoplex
Light
Myoplex light is a stripped down version of myoplex
deluxe. It has only around 200 Calories and has less
vitamins but it is still a great meal replacement especially
for those who have a small appetite or are on a Calorie
restricted diet. |
  |
Myoplex
Light RTD (ready to drink)
Not the powder but pre-made myoplex light in cartons. Tastes better
than the powder, almost delicious! Around 200 Calories
with over 20g of protein. The only negative is the
cost is greater than the powder due to the weight of
shipping. |

MetRx
MetRX may be the original powder. It has been around
as long as I can remember. |

Nutrition Bars
  |
Cliff
bars
I have been impressed with the taste and nutrition of
Cliff Bars ever since they came out. They have a great
variety of flavors. Each bar comes has around 250
Calories with a good amount of fiber, low fat and protein.
Definitely a viable option for in-between meals or before a
workout. |
  |
MetRx
Big 100 bar
This 100 gram bar has over 300 Calories. It also has
30 or more grams of MetRx metamyosyn protein depending on
flavor. If you are using these bars as meal
replacements, they are good for satisfying your sweet tooth. |
  |
Myoplex
Deluxe bars
Myoplex deluxe bars have the best nutrition out of any of
the meal replacement bars. Unfortunately they do not
taste as good as some other bars. But if your like me
and your #1 priority is optimal nutrition, Myoplex bars
should be a part of your nutrition plan. |
  |
Myoplex
Light bars
Myoplex light bars are completely different from the
Myoplex Deluxe bars. They are made up of the rice
crispy treat type of hybrid granola bar. Hard to
explain but when you taste them, they taste familiar.
Many of these types of bars taste the same. |
  |
Balance
Bar Trail mix
My favorite snack bars. They are all different.
They have mixed nuts and seeds and crispy bits of rice.
There are a couple different flavors but I think the fruit &
nut is the best. Balance bars nutrition is based on
the Zone or 40 : 30 : 30 diet principle. The zone diet
has been successful for many people. 40% carb 30%p
rotein 30% fat |
Pre-Exercise Meal Replacement
Supplement
Having optimal energy for intense
exercise depends largely on what you eat
in 1-3 hours before your session.
If you have not eating prior to your
workout it may be a good idea to get a
supplement to supply you with nutrients
so you don't crash or run out of energy
during exercise.
Post-Exercise Supplement
Most liquid protein drinks are an
option for post exercise with the hope
your body will not catabolize or break
down its own muscle. The best
option is to get a 4 or 6 : 1
carbohydrate : protein ratio shake, or
bar, such as normal Power Bar
Performance, which has 45 grams of carb
and 10 grams of protein or about a 4:1
ratio!
