Do You Have what it Takes to be a Bodybuilder?

Bodybuilding has been around for over 100 years.

When some you hear the world bodybuilding you no doubt think of the oiled up behemoths on stage at Mr. Olympia.

The guys at the top of professional competitive bodybuilding are the extreme example of the bodybuilder.  They are chemically enhanced to the maximum.  This is not to say that they do not have to work tremendously hard to achieve their look.

Not many people want to be a pro bodybuilder and don't have the genetics and build to even dream of it.  There are thousands of bodybuilding competitions across the world each year.

Natural bodybuilding is very different from the professional bodybuilding you see on television.  Natural bodybuilders are frequently drug tested.  Naturally they can't reach the same size as the chemically enhanced.

Bodybuilding is not easy.  It takes great genetics, hard work, tremendous self discipline, and a never say die attitude to be a successful bodybuilder.

Personally I see bodybuilding more as lifting for vanity purposes rather than preparation for a competition.

When it comes down to it, everybody would like to be in good shape and feel great about themselves.  I would qualify most people in the weight room as a bodybuilder.
